Arne Slot acknowledged that it's expected for questions to be raised about his position after another heavy defeat versus the Dutch champions.

Liverpool endured their ninth loss in 12 matches, representing the club's poorest streak since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were outplayed by the Eredivisie champions on a difficult evening at their home ground.

“I feel secure, things are alright, I've received significant backing from above,” Slot stated.

“It would be great to turn it around and earn three points of course but if you are in a managerial role and struggling then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He noted, “I am OK with my position. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a difficult position but it's crucial that we turned it around.”

Conversations with Club Management

Upon being questioned to expand on his conversations with the Liverpool hierarchy, the head coach said:

“We talk a lot. They are supportive to the team and to me and we have those conversations but they don’t call me constantly of the day to say they back me.”

He mentioned, “During our regular exchanges I perceive the belief. However I've not talked to them after this match yet so we'll see.”

Persistent Issues and Squad Response

The manager expressed regret over familiar failings from his team in their Champions League defeat, namely poor finishing and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was more direct in his evaluation of the current crisis.

“I don’t have the answers. Honestly, I don’t. I’m saying that to all,” Jones remarked.

“It’s just unacceptable. I don’t even have to wait to reflect. I'm beyond getting mad inside. I've reached the stage currently where I simply lack the words.”

He added, “It's tough because I play for the club I love. I’m a fan, and I've watched this club since I was young.”

“For many years, I've not seen a Liverpool team going through a spell of this nature with outcomes like these.”

He finished, “But we still have the crest on our chest. And until that badge is taken away, we’re always going to battle.”

“We’re going to try to get this team back to its rightful place, demonstrate to all once more what Liverpool stands for and why people call it the top club in the world.”

“However currently, we're in trouble and it needs to change.”
