Details of the Serious Charges The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Police Inquiry These allegations come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January. Breakdown of Charges The charging documents said the 45 charges comprise: Fifteen counts of assault. Seventeen counts of assault by penetration. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. One count of attempted penetrative assault.
